Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

oodhwe ("we", "our", "us") is a personal assistant application designed to help you manage your household, finances, subscriptions, and important dates. We are operated by oodhwe (www.oodhwe.in). For any privacy-related questions, contact us at hello@oodhwe.in.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use the oodhwe Android app:

• Account information — email address provided during sign-up via Firebase Authentication or Google Sign-In.
• App data — data you enter in the app such as expenses, subscriptions, important dates, notes, medicine doses, loans, payments, and trips.
• Notification token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging token, used only to deliver push notifications you've enabled, stored against your account.
• Feedback — messages you submit via the in-app feedback form.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. The app does not collect your location, camera, contacts, or device storage contents.

3. App Permissions

The Android app requests the following device permissions:

• Notifications — to show reminders for bills, dates, and medicines.
• Exact alarms — to trigger reminders at the precise time you schedule.
• Run at device startup — to restore your scheduled reminders after your device restarts.

If your device supports biometric authentication, you can optionally use your fingerprint or face unlock to secure app access. Biometric data never leaves your device and is never seen or stored by oodhwe.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and improve the oodhwe service.
• To send push notifications for reminders and important dates (only if you opt in).
• To respond to your support requests and feedback.
• To detect and prevent fraud or misuse.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database (SQLCipher), and synced to Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Firebase provides industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is protected by Firebase security rules that restrict reads and writes to your own authenticated account.

Sensitive values such as your database encryption key and app PIN are stored using the Android Keystore via encrypted shared preferences, and never leave your device.

6. Backups

Android System (Auto) Backup is disabled for oodhwe, so your app data is never included in Google's device backups. Instead, oodhwe offers an in-app backup & export feature: when you choose to back up your data, an export file is generated on your device and, if you enable cloud backup, uploaded securely to your private Firebase Storage folder. You can trigger, restore, or delete these backups at any time from Settings.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — export all your data at any time via Settings → Backup & Export.
• Delete — permanently delete your account using the Delete Account button in the profile popup. This removes your account, your local on-device data, and any cloud backups stored in Firebase.
• Correct — update your display name via Settings → Profile Information.
• Object — opt out of push notifications at any time via Settings → Preferences.

8. Data Retention

Your data is retained on your device and in Firebase as long as your account is active. When you delete your account using the Delete Account button in the profile popup, your local on-device data, your Firestore data, and any cloud backups are permanently deleted.

9. Children's Privacy

oodhwe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us at hello@oodhwe.in.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of oodhwe after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
